Version 6.0.6989.0 Won't Import

  • 2.0
  • Overall Rating 2 stars

Reviewed by:QuaziDog Reviewed on:10/25/2012

Pros
Nothing. It won't import even though I've imported numerous versions of this MP successfully for years. This is the error I get- The requested management pack was invalid. See inner exception for details. Parameter name: managementPack Database error. [MPInfra_p_ManagementPackInstall] failed with exception: Database error. [MPInfra_p_ManagementPackInstall] failed with exception: There is already an object named 'MT_Computer_A' in the database.
Cons
A lot.
Additional Comments
You also screwed up the logical disk free space monitors a few versions ago, so I'm hoping that has been addressed/fixed, but I can't tell because i can't import/upgrade from the previous version.

Additional Comments
Concerned about Microsoft control of versions. As of 9/28/2012 if you click on the download button you are taken to a MP that is version 6.0.6989.0, however the description list version 6.0.6972.0... attention to detail is very important.

Has suppressed various roll up monitors and performance counters.
Cons
The standard logical disk space monitor stopped triggering alerts after this upgrade. The monitor shows perfectly fine in the console but is not responding to any low disk space on a server. How can i fix it?

System by Utilization Report still broken...

  • 4.0
  • Overall Rating 4 stars

Reviewed by:Jim_D Reviewed on:6/18/2012

Pros
Pretty comprehensive
Cons
The release from last October introduced a new Performance by Utilization report, which is a good overview of server health. Unfortunately, the most utilized servers are going to have the lowest logical disk idle time. The report gives us, however, the servers with the highest percent idle time. It can be fixed by modifying the sproc, but I'd hope MS will fix this issue at some point.
